Dear members,

I am proud to announce that the GSCF has been approved by the Australian Charities and Not for profits Commission (ACNC) and has gained Deductable Goods Recipient status with the Australian Tax Office. This means that the GSCF can now take tax deductible donations which will provide support to our swimmers within the club, who have a disability (Multiclass) and those who suffer from a chronic illness.

As Chairman of the GSCF, I am thrilled to announce the following outstanding Geelong citizens who have joined me in volunteering to be on the GSCF board:

  • Board Member (Governance) – Libby Mears (CEO Leisure Networks)
  • Board Member (General) – Peter Doak (Retired Accountant & GSC Olympic Rep)
  • Board Member (Investment) – Patrick Rowan (Accountant Patrick Rowan & Associates)

The development of the GSCF is in alignment with the clubs Strategic Plan particularly our focus area of, “consistent and sustainable financial resources”. Initiatives such as the GSCF will ultimately lead to lower costs for all members and is a tangible demonstration of the practical application of our club values, Involvement, Opportunity, Excellence & Enjoyment.

If you would like to donate to the GSCF or you know of a business or individual that has great community spirit that would like to donate, please follow the details below:

I would like to acknowledge the work that Anthony Farnan has contributed to the application process and thank his employer Coulter Roache for their support in providing Anthonys’ services on a pro bono basis. I would also like to thank the board members who have volunteered their time and brought “substance” to a unique idea.
