The 2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Short Course Championships were held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on October 22-24.

The Geelong Swimming Club was represented by our Age Competitive athletes Dylan Logan and Madison Cooper.

Madi made her first Open National Final in the 200m Backstroke on Day 1, finishing 10th amongst some talented athletes from around the country.

Dylan had a busy program, with a total of 15 swims over the three day meet. He qualified for seven finals, and one straight final. Dylan finished the meet with 4th in the 50 Free, 5th in the 50 Breast, 100 Free, 50 Fly, and 100 Fly, 7th in the 200 IM and 50 Breast. The last swim of the meet saw Dylan bring home a Silver medal for the 50 Backstroke – the clubs first national medal for some time!

These two athletes should be very proud of their achievements to mix it with the countries’ best swimmers. It is also a testament to our coaching staff in developing an elite training program that provides strong results at a high level meet.

GO GEELONG!
