This squad is designed for those swimmers 12 years and over who wish to improve their swimming for pool, open water and surf without the same level of commitment required for Junior and Age Competitive swimming squads.


This squad is aimed at swimmers 12 and over, and is designed for highly competitive athletes who want to manage their own training load.

Our recommendation is that athletes in this squad swim at least 3-5 sessions a week to maximise potential and performance.

Cross Competitive is expected to compete at both meets run by Geelong Swimming Club at Kardinia Pool and are encouraged to race at least once a month.

Swimmers are invited and encouraged to attend camps.

Cross Competitive Squad will have quarterly meetings (at the start of the term). These meetings are for the swimmer, parents and coaches to get together and discuss the up coming term and answer any questions.

Email will be the primary mode of communication with Team App being our resource for documents and references.

Punctuality – Please arrive before start time so as swimmers are ready to do their band work before getting in the water

Dryland – Prior to our swim sessions we will using bands to strengthen and protect swimmers shoulders. On Saturday morning there will be 15mins of skipping and dryland activity.

Swim – Our swim sessions will be based around technique, efficiency and race specificity.

Equipment – Fins – DMC/Arena. Paddles – Engine. Kick board & pull buoy – swimmers preference. Snorkel – Arena swim snorkel pro II

Duty Of Care

Please note swimmers can not leave the session early unless coaches have written confirmation or have spoken to a parent prior.
