Geelong Swimming Club has started a new entry level squad program aimed at young swimmers 15 and under who wish to acquire the skills required for school sports, nippers and swim club participation. The skills taught will include diving, tumble turns, and stroke correction.

Lucky Weerakkody, our Silver Accredited (ASCTA) Licensed Coach will run the program and take sessions so you can be assured your child will be receiving coaching from one of our highest accredited coaches with over 40 years of experience.

Squad Goal

To further skills and abilities beyond learn to swim, with the option to transfer into competitive swimming.

Transition Squad

The Transition Squad is a bridging squad between high level Learn to Swim swimmers and our competition squads. Here, Lucky focuses on competitive stroke technique and introduces the basics of competition swimming. There is no competition requirement for this squad.

Equipment

The Transition Squad swimmers are required to bring their own goggles, cap and drink bottle to every training session.

How Much?  The Transition Squad is payable by term, based on $11.00/session & ($9.35/session for siblings).

Please note: all fees are paid via direct debit.

Training Timetable

The Transition Squad runs every Wednesday from 7pm-8pm in summer, and 7:30pm-8:30pm in winter and Sunday from 4:30pm-5pm for beginners, and 5pm-6pm for advanced.

What is the commitment level?

After a 1-week free trial, if your swimmer has been accepted into the squad then swimmers will need to commit for a period of 10 weeks & pay by direct debit. Payments will be made in a lump sum to cover 10 swims.

How long does the program go for?

The squad will run all year with a 2-week break over Christmas.
