We’re incredibly proud of GSC Club Referee Peter Tindale, who has this week been officiating at the World Para Swimming World Series in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Before heading overseas, Peter reflected on the opportunity and the challenge ahead, noting that officiating at a Para event is considerably more complex than an able-bodied event.
With the Para rules to review, a new group of officials to work alongside and a new environment to navigate, Peter was looking forward to the opportunity to learn, meet new people and experience a new culture. Following orientation, Peter shared that just 6 of the 32 officials at the meet were English-speaking, and he was looking forward to four days of competition in what he described as an amazing pool set-up.
Now, luckily for us, Peter is homeward bound and ready to officiate at our GSC Junior Meet this Sunday!
From Mexico for the World Para Series to Highton for the GSC Junior Meet, we’re so grateful to have Peter as our Club Referee and incredibly proud of his selection to prestigious international events. His passion for swimming, officiating and developing others in this field is something that we are so lucky to have at our Club.
Congratulations, Peter!
