2026 Victorian Short Course Age Championships

Last weekend (Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August 2026) saw our State-qualified athletes competing at MSAC for the 2026 Short Course State Age Championships. It was an intense three days of racing with two competition pools running concurrently through each morning's heats sessions.

It was loud, it was fun, and we saw some incredible racing from GSC!

Our 47-strong state age athlete contingent lined up with Victoria's best and delivered amazing performances:

• 195 x Swims

• 97 x Personal Bests...an incredible 50% of all swims

• 66 x Top 10 individual placings

• 27 x Medals (3 Gold, 15 Silver, and 9 Bronze)

Hitting a 50% PB rate is exceptionally impressive given that many of those previous personal bests were set at Country Championships just a few weeks ago.

A huge thank you to our awesome GSC Coaching Team, those who were there on the pool deck and also those who had prepared our swimmers so well.

Our athletes were primed to perform at their best and proved what an impressive young group of athletes they are.
